A recreation of the Battle of Gate Pa.
Description

Please watch this video to get an idea of what this map is all about: http://youtu.be/8MekbZ3VU9A

This map recreates the battle between Maori and English in 1864. You may wish to check this site out so your students understand the historical significance: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tauranga_Campaign

The students login using a name from the Character list (pdf). This is a PVP world so combatants can hurt their own side.

The British soldiers are to storm the Pa and set off the cannons which will make a breach in the wall and allow them access. The British should work as a team to flush out the Maori and overwhelm them with their greater numbers. The Maori warriors are defending the Pa and should stay out of sight and try to pick off the English Soldiers.

When a player dies they will be spawned in ‘the Bunker’ this keeps them out of the battle until the map is reset.

When one side defeats all of the other enemies the battle is won and the players should log out. IMPORTANT: Do not save the map!!! Restart the server with the original map and then ask the students to log back in to restart the battle.

Teachers should be in Build mode so that they can fly anywhere in the map and if needed give items to students or teleport stuck players.

can I play more than 20?

Sure! We only had 20 due to the ratio of English Soldiers to Maori Warriors. You can add as many players as you like but they will need to have access to the chests in the spawn room so they can get armour and weapons.
