This is a world I made specifically for a 3rd grade lesson on area and perimeter, but it can be adapted to many types of assignments.

Description

I designed this world so that each student could have an individual work area and be able to build within that setting.  It's a superflat world, so everyone's building on a level surface and everyone has the same size area to work in.  The student work spots are all close together so I can easily fly from student to student and check their work.  Each spot has a number, and kids are assigned their number at the beginning of class.  After they spawn, they go to their spot and begin working on the assignment.

So far, I've only used this with an area and perimeter lesson, where each student has to make an enclosure for a cow, sheep, chicken, and pig.  I tell the kids the area that each pen must cover, and they then calculate the perimeter.  Once they are done with that and I've checked their work, they are allowed to build a farmhouse in the remaining space.
