This lesson is great for a culminating activity with an ecosystem unit. The ecosystems covered are freshwater, saltwater, desert, tundra, grasslands, coniferous forest, deciduous forest, and tropical forest. In each biome there is a platform the students can stand on and observe what it looks like, along with an information block that has information specific to that biome. There is a main hub that has teleport blocks to the various biomes, the students visit a biome and then return to the hub to go to the next. After all 7 teleport stations have been visited, the studetns may proceed to the Ecosystem Guantlet, which is a 7 question quiz. There is a fence blocking the quiz that must be broken by the teacher to prevent students from going to the quiz too soon. The quiz is set up so they must answer each question correct to get through all the way. If a question is missed the student is telported to the correct answer's biome and they must start the quiz again. The students are free to explore on their own if they make it through to the end. Here is a YouTube video with an overview that explains the map and how I use it. https://youtu.be/sPbx7CRsReE
There is a sometimes an issue with students being telported into the middle of a block. Make sure to allow students the ability to teleport to spawn, so if they do get stuck they can fix themselves.
